I Started A Side Hustle!

So excited to announce that I recently joined the wonderful world of entrepreneurship. I am now a skin care consultant with Rodan + Fields. For those not familiar, R+F is a line of high-quality dermatology inspired skincare products created by the same doctors that created PROACTIV and was named the #1 skincare brand in 2018 and 2019, respectively.

My journey with Rodan + Fields began four years ago; my friend and old colleague reached out to tell me about her new business venture. Timing is everything, and I was not in the right mindset to join her in business at that time. I had a demanding job and thought R+F was more suitable for stay at home moms, so I became a Preferred Customer instead. I started with a regimen called SOOTHE for sensitive skin and instantly fell in love with the products. Fun fact -- I've been obsessed with skincare since I was 13 years old! For five years, I once strongly considered becoming a dermatologist. I think it was inevitable that I would eventually become a consultant.

Growing up, I remember my father telling me how important it was to have a plan b and that one should never be dependent on just one way of earning an income. I didn't take his words seriously back then, but they resonate with me now more than ever. I joined R+F right before the pandemic hit. For a minute there, I started to second guess myself and kept thinking, who will invest in skincare products during a pandemic? It turns out most of the people I started talking to were searching for products to add to their skincare regimen. Selfcare was and still is top of mind.

Becoming an R+F consultant was one of the best decisions I could have made. Not only has it given me some extra cash in my pocket, but it has also given me a sense of community. I love the team I joined; I've never been more inspired or felt more empowered. Something I was not expecting was the amount of support I would receive from women that didn't even know me. This community of women welcomed me with open arms; the support has been incredible. These amazing women come from all sorts of backgrounds, some are moms, and some are single with demanding careers.

I love that I get to be my own boss while helping other women feel more confident in their skin. I cannot wait to see where my journey with R+F takes me! What about you? Do you have a side hustle? What are some of your favorite skincare products?
